Here is a thread from a person that attempted an LS swap on a 5th Gen. Unfortunately it didn't actually work for them. Trackcar = 6th gen. Street car = 5th Gen. Not that a 6th can’t be a good street car, but the 6th gen is significantly better for the track than the 5th Gen due to chassis improvements and weight. I like my 5th Gen for cruising around and being loud, but it’s heft is a liability on the track, especially if one’s driving style is to brake

Im not a fan of the 6th gen wheel. I really didn't care for the original 5th gen wheel either to be honest. The OE 5th gen wheel looked cool, but ergonomically it was a mess for hand placement and button access. I swapped to the 5th gen leather ZL1 wheel for the flat bottom and absolutely love it. Posts 8,627. Well by the numbers the 6th Gen is a better race car. Lighter weight and bigger HP engine. The 10 spd is yet to prove it self but it looks awesome so far. I'm with you the new gizmos are cool. But I really think our 5th Gen ZL1's will be the 69' Camaro's of the future. Hard to find and everyone will want one. yv426G.
