The Tivo box had a AV Sender connected via scart cable which allowed me to watch the same program from the TV in the lounge on the TV in the kitchen. The V6 box has no scart connectivity and jsut 1 HDMI connection.

Re: Older tv only has a scart connection. The review you quoted doesn't actually mention SCART, and it really seems unlikely to me that a 4K TV that is only 5 years old (mentioned in the quote) would have had a SCART connector. (Wikipedia says that SCART was an analog standard going back to the mid 1970s.

It sounds like the HDMI cable is the wrong type of cable (you cant upscale SCART to HDMI without a signal processor as SCART is analogue and HDMI is digital). The RCA to SCART cable (with the Red, White and Yellow connectors) is the right cable, my guess is you have purchased a RCA to SCART rather than a SCART to RCA cable, so the signal isntcmPeG.
