2743 posts · Joined 2018. #1 · Jul 23, 2020. Evening Gents, Back in March I hadn’t used my XFR for a few weeks (possibly a month) and when I tried to unlock it, the car was totally dead. I ordered a battery from the local Jaguar dealer as some places said it needed AGM and some said it didn’t so rather then risking it, I ordered it from
1. intermittent fuel supply caused by minute particles trapped in the fuel system - probably in the filter itself which "float" up and cause a temp blockage when fuel demand is low or you try and hold a constant speed at low revs; and/or. 2. poor quality fuel.

Yes the transfer case can be an issue on the Jaguar X Type due to the folowing reasons: The X Type was built at the time when Ford acquired Jaguar and they designed the transmission and transfer case to not be "consumer serviceable". 2016 MY 65 reg XF Rsport 2.0D automatic - Today whilst driving on M40 Engine Oil Critically Low message suddenly appeared and within seconds my gas pedal stopped responding. Car was slowing down, I had managed to get to stop on hard shoulder, unable to use knob to go to parking or neutral. I switched off the engine, tried to restart, it coighed wheels / hubs problems NHTSA: 2. seat belts / air bags problems NHTSA: 1. body / paint problems NHTSA: 1. brakes problems NHTSA: 1. electrical problems NHTSA: 1. 5463 posts · Joined 2014. #2 · Dec 10, 2016. I've had dsc not available (then abs, Cruise etc) when the foot switch got confused. Cleared after a reboot but could be foot switch. Also dodgy abs sensor can cause this. RP though, dunno Sent from a shiny phone. Typos to be expucted XF 3.0D S Portfolio, MY2010.
Posted April 17, 2015. Hi Alan, I think you should back to the dealer who fitted the EGR valve and tell him to fix it properly. I sometimes have problems with the EGR valves [two on the S type] and I use one of two options to clean it up. The first is a good blast down the A38, and the second is a canister of Wynns Diesel EGR clean for around £9.
