Kassandra is best as both the eagle bearer and deimos. Alexios is a cringey deimos (voice acting doesn't convince me) and as the eagle bearer i guess he is ok. Kassandra 1000%, Alexios makes a better ‘villain’ though, I just love Kassandra’s character and her voice actor is far better in my opinion! False.
I loved Alexios as the protagonist, it was exactyly like Ezio, but Ancient Greek, macho, over the top, theatrical and larger than life. I never understood why that executive at Ubisoft said the canon character was Kassandra when they clearly refer to you as misthios, which is male. If you were Kassandra it would have been misthia.

If you played through the game as Alexios the first time around, you'll be given the option to switch to Kassandra, and vice versa, when you first select New Game + from the menu.
Alexios, the guy, is pretty funny compared to Bayek (the Origins protagonist). Kassandra is the canon character and the one most Youtubers seem to pick. Either way, their stories are the same, only with different voice acting. The guy is more exaggerated like what you hear in Japanese so the inflection really comes through. The lady is more subtle.
Hell, even if when Kassandra and Alexios both touch the Spear of Leonidas at the same time and they both have a vision they see together or something. Or, maybe Kassandra convinces him to at least hear her out about the Cult and you all three go on a quest together, and in that quest he starts realizing things and starts opening up more and
That assumes we have the option of playing as a woman in that game - though to do otherwise would be a horrible misstep for the company. Kassandra is not even that massive, also i don't know what you expect from a mercenary who fights, walks, runs and climbs all day. If anything she could've been a lot fitter and stronger.
Alexios comes off as a heartier person, big and strong but also a nice guy inside. Kassandra is similar but seems a bit more distant and introspective. Of course, their scripts are the same, so they are, obviously, going to be similar - but the way their VAs portray them as slightly different despite the same script is, I would say, substantial.
Does Alexios and Kassandra have the same father? There is an age difference between them so it would be weird if they had the same father. would it mean that their mother first had the first child then lived lived with Nikolaos and then had another child with their father and then went to the with Nikolaos again?
So to stick with the times I figured Alexios would fit in better with the story. No regrets so far, I have grown attached to the character and enjoyed the game heaps so far. Though next time a do re-run I will use Kassandra as she looked like such a fun character to play as and may change the story in her own magic way.
1) They tell the story from start to finish, following the game 2) it tells a whole different story using Kassandra as the lead due to her immortality. I think the only issue would be casting, because you have to use Melissanthi for Kassandra- but Kassandra needs to be pretty muscular.
